Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav skipped the Mumbai event to prepare for the polls in Uttar Pradesh. The Opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) leaders gathered at Mumbai's Shivaji Park to conclude Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which began in Manipur in January. The show of strength occurred a day after the ECI announced the Lok Sabha election timetable. Gandhi remarked at the gathering launching INDIA's bloc unified poll campaign that the BJP lacks the courage to “change” the Constitution. People in India supported him because he told the truth. Other INDIA leaders challenged the BJP at the gathering, despite their struggles to maintain bloc unity and vote transfer. Akhilesh Yadav skipped the Mumbai rally to prepare for the Uttar Pradesh election. Yadav wrote to Rahul Gandhi that he could not attend owing to Lok Sabha nominations. A faction of the Congress believes the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was mistimed and could have been used for election preparation. Gandhi's followers claim it wasn't an electoral yatra to shield him from the 2024 election. "If this yatra wasn't electoral, why did we do it before the polls?" said a Congress leader. The BJP expects a third term and record-breaking numbers. In the 543-member Lok Sabha, Narendra Modi has predicted 400 BJP and allied seats. Soon after Indira Gandhi's assassination, Rajiv Gandhi became Prime Minister with 414 seats in 1984.Opposition hopes to repeat 2004 Lok Sabha outcomes. In the election, charismatic Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's “India Shining” BJP lost to the Congress. Many in Congress seemed hopeless. But Congress head Sonia Gandhi formed a coalition and returned the party to power for 10 years. With much excitement, the INDIA bloc was founded last year. Prior to seat-sharing agreements, crucial ally Nitish Kumar departed the bloc. INDIA allies fight in Punjab and West Bengal. In at least three states, seat discussions are questionable. INDIA math is still Congress' best bet. Youth, women, and farmers are also party election promises.
