Cancer awareness campaign- health talk at pioneer convent
To create awareness about cancer and its precautions and to detect cancer at the earliest, cancer awareness campaign- health talk was organized by B L. Kapoor super speciality hospital, New Delhi at Pioneer Convent Sr. Sec. School, Loknayakpuram, Bakkarwala. The main thrust was on oral cancer, breast and cervical cancer, which are easily preventable, and can be diagnosed at the earliest. Dr. Jai Gopal Sharma (consultant preventive oncology department cancer medical centre), Dr. Poonam Gambhir (Sr. medical officer preventive oncology, Deptt. Cancer medical centre) guided students and teachers about the fact that cancer can be prevented by regular screening, quitting tobacco, limit intake of alcohol, change in lifestyle and immunization (against hepatitis B and HPV virus). Dr. Seema Bajaj, principal of the school thanked the medical team for organizing such a beneficial awareness campaign in the school premises.
